Saving the Giant Panda

Our mission is to celebrate the great outdoors, but to do that we also need to help protect it. Nobody does that better than our friends at WWF. It is estimated that around 1,860 giant pandas remain in the wild today. From today onwards, all sales of our ‘Patch the Panda Snow Suit’ will help protect the species and their habitat, by contributing 5% towards WWF’s panda conservation programme. This contribution will help strengthen the protection and restoration of pandas habitats. So far, WWF have also helped plant over 500 hectares of new bamboo forest and removed over 15,000m of artificial fences to connect panda population.

Buy or share our ‘Patch the Panda Snow Suit’ to help give giant pandas a brighter future.

Panda Facts

Characteristics

The Giant Panda is one of the most recognisable animals in the world. It has a white coat with black fur around the eyes, and on the ears, muzzle, legs and shoulders. Males are around 10% larger than females. An adult male panda can weigh between 85-125kg and grow to around 1.9m long.

Diet

Bamboo is the Giant Panda’s main food source which makes up 99% of their diet. Today human settlements prevent pandas from moving between areas to find bamboo.

Why are Giant Pandas vulnerable?

The main threats are habitat fragmentation, population isolation, infrastructure development , tourism and climate change.
