Temperatures may be dropping, but that doesn’t mean we need to stay inside! Learning to layer your kids is the key so we've put together the ultimate guide for your autumn adventures.
Keep your little adventurers warm, dry, and happy on every cold-weather activity this autumn with our ultimate three-layer system.
1) The Base Layer (aka, the Moisture Wicker)
Active kids sweat! A breathable, soft layer that sits next to the skin will remove any excess moisture preventing that damp, chilly feeling that can quickly ruin an outdoor adventure. Now you’ve got the basics, some final tips to keep in mind:
Don't Overdress Your Kids!: It can be tempting, but more layers can be restrictive and cause your child to sweat too much. A good rule of thumb is to add just one more layer than you would wear for the same activity.
Do the Neck Check: Hands and feet can often feel cold even if a child is warm. To gauge your kid’s true temperature and make sure they’re comfortable, check the back of their neck or their chest.
Communication Is Key!: You may think the layers are perfect, but kids move around ALOT! Listen to their cues — if they're complaining about being too hot or cold, it's time to adjust the layers.
